USDT Transfer Fee Calculator
USDT lives on several networks and the same transfer can cost a cent or several dollars depending on which one you use. Pick a network or enter the fee quoted to you, and see the real cost per transfer and per month.
Same transfer across networks
| Network | Typical fee | Est. cost |
|---|---|---|
| Tron (TRC20) | 6 TRX | 1.80 USD |
| Ethereum (ERC20) | 0.0016 ETH | 5.60 USD |
| BNB Chain (BEP20) | 0.0003 BNB | 0.18 USD |
| Solana (SPL) | 0.000008 SOL | 0.00 USD |
| Polygon | 0.01 POL | 0.00 USD |
| TON | 0.05 TON | 0.15 USD |
1 USD fee figures use typical rates; congestion moves the real number, especially on Ethereum and Tron.
Same dollar, different rails
USDT is issued on more than a dozen networks, and the token is identical in value everywhere. What changes is the transfer cost, confirmation speed and which wallets and exchanges accept deposits on that network. Picking the wrong rail can mean paying several dollars to move money that could have moved for a fraction of a cent.
- TRC20: the payments workhorse, roughly $1-2 without energy rental
- ERC20: widest DeFi support, but several dollars in gas
- Solana, Polygon and BNB Chain: usually under a cent
- Always confirm the receiving side supports the network you pick
For businesses accepting USDT, also factor in the processor fee (commonly 0.5% to 1%) and any exchange withdrawal fee when settling out. The comparison table below prices the same transfer across all six networks using your asset prices.
Frequently asked questions
- Why is USDT on Tron so popular for payments?
- Tron (TRC20) combines wide exchange support with predictable fees of roughly one to two dollars per transfer, and wallets can reduce that further by staking or renting energy. For merchants it became the default rail for dollar-stable payments in many regions.
- What is the cheapest way to send USDT?
- Solana, Polygon, BNB Chain and Ethereum layer-2 networks usually cost well under a cent per transfer. The catch is support: your counterparty's wallet or exchange must accept deposits on that network, so always confirm the network before sending.
- Why did my exchange charge more than the network fee?
- Exchanges and processors charge a flat withdrawal fee that covers their own batching and risk costs, and it is often higher than the raw network cost. Sending wallet-to-wallet you pay only the network fee.
- Does the USDT amount change the fee?
- No. Transferring 100 or 100,000 USDT costs the same network fee on the same chain. Only Ethereum gas price movements and congestion change what you pay, never the token amount.
